Does my lecture material leave my device?
It depends on the engine you pick, and the app tells you before every run:
- Local — a model running on your own Mac through LM Studio, with on-device transcription. Nothing is sent anywhere.
- Managed engine (Pro) — transcript and slide images go to Mistral AI, a French provider that does not train on API data.
- Your own API key — content goes to Google or Alibaba under your own account and their terms.
Speech-to-text always happens on your device, whichever engine you choose. Full details in the privacy policy.
Do I need an API key?
For the cloud engines with your own key, yes — you create it with the provider and paste it in Settings → API Keys. The Local engine needs no key but requires LM Studio running on a Mac. The managed engine included with Pro needs no key.
Why does processing stop before the end?
Long lectures are processed in parts. If one part fails — connection dropped, quota exhausted at the provider, app closed — the notes keep what was produced and mark the missing part. Starting the same lecture again resumes from where it stopped instead of redoing everything.
Where are my notes stored?
On your device, as plain Markdown files, plus the extracted frames. You can export them as PDF or share them anywhere. They are not stored on any server of ours, because there is no server.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us: open the Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → AI University. Cancelling there stops the renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Settings → Account & subscription → Delete account. It removes your Apple identifier, your name and your free-trial data from the device and from your iCloud. Your notes are kept — they are your files.
Deleting the account does not cancel a subscription: that has to be done from the Settings app, as described above.
The free trial ended. What now?
The 3-day trial gives one lecture per day. When it ends you can still open, read, export and share every note you already generated — that never expires. To process new lectures you need Plus or Pro.
Reporting a problem
If something failed during processing, the app can show you the log: after a run that did not complete, tap Show the log. Copying that text into your email tells us far more than a description ever could.
